The design study of the racing punt was created as a seminar work at the Faculty of Art and Design (UJEP, Czech Republic). The proposal is based on the existing punt design P550 created by Ing. Otokar Randak. This type of vessel has a 70-year history and is used for training of the scout youth. The project started a cooperation with the organisation Junák – Czech Scouting. Together, we have prepared a 3D model and documentation for the present P550 and currently continue with the development of a new generation of these vessels.

Seminar work (FUD UJEP, CZ), 2007
Awarded: “Good Student Design 2008”

The design study started a cooperation with the organisation Junák – Czech Scouting.
The aim is to document technically the existing P550 boats and prepare the concept of a new generation of vessels. It is a job for pleasure, without a fee.

The existing P550 hull was captured by a 3D scanner (SolidVision, Ltd.); the resulting polygon model served as a basis for creating a geometrically accurate model.

The 3d model and the drawings help the scout troops with the construction and modification of the existing P550 punts.
Based on the internal discussion of water scouts and comments on the current design, we are working together on a new generation of these vessels
