The biggest challenge while designing the wood plane was the ergonomics. The rear grip part has been raised for a better hand support and more efficient use of force. The front handle was omitted because it was mostly designed for right-handers only, and its shape was not very comfortable. In the new design, it was replaced with a curved “nose” that serves as a support for the palm and improves the grip comfort and use of force. The new design features a characteristic hole in the front, which can be used to hang the tool. The plane body is made of tough hornbeam, and the sole is made of hard acacia wood.
